For filmmakers looking to be flexible, wired microphones simply don’t cut it. Wireless solutions are reliable, cost-effective and easy to set up, and if you invest in a decent system, you should be set up and ready to go in an interview situation within a minute or so.
When kit is labelled ‘universal’ or ‘one size fits all’, often it should come with a warning that it’ll be a compromise, won’t actually fit properly or do a good job. What is surprising is that the head is the same size as the smaller N8 and has the same 75mm flat base rather than a 100mm bowl. So like the N8, it needs an adapter, available separately, to use on bowl-top tripods.
