The annual Pro Moviemaker Gear of the Year Awards are unique in recognising the excellence and creativity of the hardware, software and services that professional filmmakers rely on to elevate their work.
Now in their eighth year, winning one of these globally renowned awards is a major achievement for manufacturers and service providers.
Once again, the boom in video content creation means the awards continue to grow and are bigger than ever before, with image makers casting votes for their choices of cameras, lenses, gimbals, mics, tripods, lighting and lots more. Since they are voted for by the people who use this equipment day-in, day-out, these are the accolades the industry really values.
Handing the final decision over to the votes of Pro Moviemaker readers makes them part of the largest judging panel for gear in the world. Because of this, you can be sure all the winning products have been tried and tested in the real world, so you can invest in them with confidence.
The stars of the show are the flagship categories for cameras. Two years ago, we replaced the dwindling DSLR class with a category for best hybrid/crossover camera; then in 2023, we added the class for PTZs. Both remain and have seen huge increases in interest from buyers as their novel operations continue to become more critical to the industry.
