One tripod to rule video and stills

Posted on Jun 11, 2025 by Adam Duckworth

Manfrotto launches the One hybrid tripod for filmmakers and photographers

Manfrotto has unveiled the One tripod designed specifically for hybrid content creators who shoot both photo and video. It marks the first time a tripod has been purpose-built to meet the needs of both disciplines in one integrated design.

The One combines the stability of a photo tripod with the fluid movement and adaptability required for video. Key to its innovation are several new technologies, including XTEND, which enables all leg sections to deploy simultaneously in a single, smooth motion, and XCHANGE, a new quick release system that allows fast swapping of tripod heads, sliders or other accessories without tools.

At the heart of the design is a multi-functional centre column that can tilt horizontally, slide vertically, be removed for low-angle shooting, or adjusted for precise levelling -making it highly adaptable across shooting styles. A new non-round leg shape improves torsional rigidity for smoother video panning and enhanced stability, whether you’re framing stills or tracking motion.

Available in carbon fibre or aluminium, the One hybrid can be paired with the new 500X Fluid Video Head, optimised for mirrorless cameras around 2.4 kg. It includes a fluid drag system, a selectable counterbalance and a hinged camera plate for fast landscape-to-portrait switching.

Built in Italy, the One hybrid tripod offers a unified, space-saving solution for modern creators who demand professional performance across formats – without the need to carry multiple tripods.
