The latest sound adapter bridges pro audio and mirrorless workflows to offer noise-free digital recording and full power via Nikon’s accessory shoe
Tascam has launched the CA-XLR2d-N, a digital microphone adapter designed exclusively for Nikon’s ZR mirrorless camera, finally enabling direct digital audio capture without the need for analogue inputs or post-syncing.
The unit connects via the camera’s accessory shoe, transmitting high-resolution sound through Tascam’s acclaimed HDDA microphone preamps and A/D converters for clean, low-noise recordings.
With two XLR/TRS combo jacks, a mini-jack input, and phantom power support, creators can use shotgun, condenser, lavalier, or line-level mics directly with the camera. Additional features include auto level, limiter, and low-cut filter controls, plus a headphone output for real-time monitoring.
Drawing power from the camera itself, the compact CA-XLR2d-N keeps rigs lightweight and clutter-free, while its shock-mounted mic holder minimises handling noise. Ideal for content creators, documentarians, and hybrid shooters, it delivers professional-grade sound quality to match Nikon’s cinematic imaging.
