Some products simply move the industry forward. These categories celebrate launches and innovations that changed the conversation this year.
Innovation of the year recognises the products pushing boundaries. Blackmagic’s DaVinci Resolve Studio 21 keeps redefining post-production with ever-more powerful AI tools, while Adobe Premiere’s advances demonstrate how automation is improving.
Imaging innovation remains crucial. Nikon’s ZR proved to be one of the year’s biggest talking points, while Sigma’s Aizu Prime lenses also stood out for delivering premium cine performance.
Elsewhere, Rode’s Rodelink II system, Profoto’s Propanel 3×2 and GoPro’s Mission 1 Pro ILS demonstrated how innovation is happening everywhere.
Launch of the year celebrates the gear that made the biggest impact. Canon impressed with both the EOS R6 III and the EOS C50, Nikon’s ZR and Panasonic’s Lumix S1 II proved that hybrid cameras continue to evolve, and Fujifilm’s GFX Eterna 55 brought medium format into filmmaking. These are the products filmmakers simply couldn’t stop talking about.
