Fujifilm Introduces GFX100S II Mirrorless Camera

Lightweight Design and Advanced Features Highlight the Latest Addition to the GFX Series
Fujifilm has announced its newest mirrorless digital camera, the Fujifilm GFX100S II.
This model is notable for being the lightest in Fujifilm’s GFX series with a 102MP large format image sensor, weighing approximately 883g including the battery and memory card.
The GFX100S II features the newly developed GFX 102MP CMOS II high-speed image sensor, which is 1.7 times larger than a standard 35mm full-frame sensor.
Paired with the advanced X-Processor 5, this combination aims to deliver exceptional image quality and performance.
Enhancements include a 5-axis in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) system that achieves up to 8 stops of anti-shake performance, and an upgraded autofocus (AF) system that utilises AI-based subject detection.

- High-Resolution Sensor: The 102MP GFX 102MP CMOS II sensor delivers detailed and vibrant images, while the X-Processor 5 ensures rapid image processing.
- Image Stabilisation: The improved IBIS mechanism provides up to 8 stops of stabilisation, allowing for sharp handheld shots even in low-light conditions.
- Advanced Autofocus: The AI-driven AF system enhances subject tracking for animals, vehicles, and other moving subjects, supporting continuous shooting at up to 7 frames per second.
- Video Capabilities: The camera supports 4K/30P video recording with 4:2:2 10-bit color depth, and offers Apple ProRes recording when connected to an external SSD via USB Type-C.
- Film Simulations and Pixel Shift Multi-Shot: The GFX100S II includes 20 Film Simulation modes and a Pixel Shift Multi-Shot feature, which can generate images up to approximately 400MP.
Design and Usability:
The GFX100S II maintains the compact dimensions of its predecessor, measuring 150mm in width, 104mm in height, and 87mm in depth. The camera’s lightweight design and ergonomic grip, featuring the BISHAMON-TEX texture, aim to provide comfort and stability for various shooting scenarios.
Availability and Pricing:
The GFX100S II will be available in the UK from 17 June 2024, through authorised Fujifilm retailers, the Fujifilm House of Photography in London, and the Fujifilm online store for £4,999. An optional metal hand grip will also be available for £135.
