Instant attraction for Irix adapter

Posted on Nov 5, 2025 by Pro Moviemaker

Irix has introduced a magnetic drop-in filter system for adapting PL lenses to Sony E-mount cameras

Drop-in magnetic filters inside an adapter to allow use of PL lenses on Sony E-mount cameras are the brainchild of Irix, which claims the filters can be changed in just one second. Irix says the process is silent and secure, removing the need for levers or moving parts that can slow production.

It supports an ecosystem of professional filters that includes VND and circular polarisers, plus creative mist and streak options. The two tray types are Cine Gear for rotating filters and Fixed for standard. No prices have been announced yet.
