Gear of the Year is here – cast your vote and back the best content creation tech of 2025

The content boom isn’t slowing. As more filmmakers, podcasters and streamers build multi-platform careers, these awards recognise the tools powering this growth – from hybrid cameras to streaming tech that streamlines workflows, boosts production values and helps creators connect with their audiences.

Whether filming for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or streaming live, today’s creators demand gear that’s powerful, portable and packed with smart features. This year’s new content creator camera category is a strong one, showcasing compact yet capable models.

The Canon EOS R50 V is purpose-built for vloggers, offering excellent autofocus, vertical video modes and direct streaming capability. DJI’s Osmo Action 5 Pro brings stabilised 4K video and rugged build quality to creators who move at speed and film anywhere. The Fujifilm X-M5 balances vintage style with modern power, providing stunning colour science and advanced in-camera Film Simulations.

OM System’s OM-3 is a Micro Four Thirds marvel: small in size but huge on features, including advanced image stabilisation and high-quality audio. Panasonic’s Lumix S9 delivers full-frame performance with IBIS, pro video options and an intuitive UI.

Nikon returns to the spotlight with two nominees: the Z 50II is a fast, affordable mirrorless APS-C camera ideal for hybrid shooting, while the Coolpix P1100 provides an all-in-one solution with an astonishing zoom lens and built-
in streaming. Finally, the Sony ZV-E10 II follows up its hugely popular predecessor with even better video capabilities and creator-focused updates, continuing Sony’s strong presence in the creator market.

On the audio-visual side of content production, great gear is vital for professional-quality output, especially in live and remote productions. Our new streaming and podcasting category features equipment that powers everything, from single-person podcasts to full-scale multicam live broadcasts.

Blackmagic Design dominates with three nominations: the Atem Mini Extreme ISO G2 and Atem Mini Pro are trusted staples for live streaming and switching, while the Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 is an ultra-compact powerhouse with cinematic performance.

Canon’s RC-IP1000 is a dedicated PTZ camera controller designed for intuitive operation in both studio and hybrid environments. Meanwhile, Hollyland’s Venusliv V2 brings wireless multicam streaming to the masses.

On the audio front, the Rode Podmic USB is made for creators who demand pro sound with plug-and-play ease. While the Sennheiser Profile USB mic is another favourite for crystal-clear voice capture with signature Sennheiser quality.

But the most disruptive tech of all has been the Rode Rodecaster Video, which brings a simple all-in-one solution to streaming.

Roland’s video switchers round out the category, offering pros 4K switching, audio mixing and HDMI/SDI flexibility for live production.

With so many tools in the mix, the content creator and streaming categories reflect the vibrant and fast-paced world of modern media. Now it’s over to you – so cast your vote here and make your voice count!
