The 70-180mm F/2.8 Di III VXD telephoto zoom lens is the third in Tamron’s line-up of fast F2.8 zoom lenscreated for Sony E-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras
To help you achieve pin sharp focus, the newly developed VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linearmotor focus mechanism produces an autofocus drive that is quieter and quicker than ever before makingit ideal for fast moving subjects and also great for video.

Construction of the 70-180mm VXD lens includes several special lens elements that contribute to itssuperb imaging performance. The very short 0.85m MOD (Minimum Object Distance) expands its overallversatility as well, making it great for close up’s too.
Its 67mm filter diameter is also common with other Tamron lenses for Sony E mount full frame cameras, adding to user convenience when having a range of Tamron lenses in this series.
Other features that support a great shooting experience include Moisture-Resistant Construction foradded weather protection and Fluorine coating to the front element for easy maintenance.
In addition,the 70-180mm F/2.8 is fully compatible with various camera-specific features including Fast Hybrid AFand Eye AF.
Developed under the concept of “making large aperture zoom lenses user-friendly,” the 70-180mm F/2.8provides users with a great portrait & telephoto option to complement the existing 17-28mm F/2.8 RXDwide angle zoom and the 28-75mm F/2.8 RXD standard zoom lens.
