Discover Sony’s new FE 85mm F1.4 GM II lens, offering exceptional resolution, stunning bokeh, and fast autofocus in a lightweight, compact design—ideal for photography and videography

Sony has announced the release of the FE 85mm F1.4 GM II, a highly anticipated upgrade to its popular portrait lens lineup. Designed for full-frame E-mount cameras, this second-generation lens offers enhanced high-resolution capabilities, stunning bokeh, and faster autofocus in a compact, lightweight design.

The FE 85mm F1.4 GM II is 20% lighter and 13% smaller than its predecessor, making it more portable without sacrificing performance. The lens features two XA (extreme aspherical) and two ED (extra-low dispersion) elements for corner-to-corner clarity, and Sony’s Nano AR Coating II to reduce flare and ghosting.

Autofocus speed has improved significantly, with up to 3 times faster AF for still photography and enhanced tracking performance for moving subjects. The lens is also optimised for cinematic video, offering minimal focus breathing and smooth operation.

Built for durability, the FE 85mm F1.4 GM II includes a fluorine coating on the front element and a dust and moisture-resistant design.

It will be available in September 2024 for £1,765.
