The 10x zoom breakthrough from Sigma

Posted on Oct 29, 2025 by Pro Moviemaker

Sigma’s new 20-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DG Contemporary lens is the world’s first 10x zoom lens to start at an ultra-wide 20mm for full-frame mirrorless cameras

Available in E-mount and L-Mount for £799/$999, it has a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 between 28mm, and 85mm even brings half-macro shooting into play.

The lens weighs 550g/1.2lb and measures 115.5mm/4.5in in length, making it a highly portable option.

Practical touches include a zoom lock switch to prevent lens creep, a dust- and splash-resistant structure, as well as oil- and water-repellent coatings. Sigma’s engineers have also worked to minimise flare and ghosting, especially in strong backlight.
