MPTS preview: The show behind the shows!

Posted on May 1, 2025 by Pro Moviemaker

The Media Production & Technology Show is the UK’s number one event to see tech and meet the people who make great films, TV and podcasts

The UK’s largest filmmaking show brings the creative and technical sides of the industry together inside one of the country’s greatest exhibition spaces: London’s historic Olympia Grand Hall. Packed with the latest hardware and software, along with workshops, discussions and seminars from top names in the industry, the Media Production & Technology Show hosts everything from TV and film production to independent filmmakers and content creators. It houses 300 exhibitors, with talks from more than 300 experts in one of the six theatre areas covering production, audio, post, technology and VP.

This year’s show – which will be spread across two levels within the Grand Hall – is set to be the biggest yet, estimated to welcome 12,000 attendees. There will also be new attractions such as the AI Media Zone, Broadcast Sport Zone and 100 live sessions, including a seminar programme supported by SMPTE and Bafta.

There will be free-to-attend sessions across its eight themed theatres: Keynote, Production, Post-Production, Broadcast Technology, Virtual Production, Audio, AI and the Media Technology Conference. The show will also be packed with all the latest kit from camera and lens manufacturers, lighting companies, workflow solutions and audio firms.

Exhibitors this year include Red and Yamaha, plus Canon, Blackmagic Design, Aputure, Sandisk and Videndum. It’s always a great opportunity to mingle and network with like-minded creatives.

Of course, Pro Moviemaker magazine, along with our sister titles Definition and FEED, will be there too. To get in the MPTS mood, let’s take a look at some of the hottest hardware that will be at the show.
