Time-tested looks with Thypoch’s new Ksana 21mm f/3.5

Posted on Jan 16, 2026 by Pro Moviemaker

Compact, light, and full of character, the Thypoch Ksana 21mm f/3.5 delivers wide-angle images with clear detail, making it an easy fit for everyday shooting

Inspired by the warmth and intimacy of classic lenses from the 1970s, Thypoch’s new Ksana 21mm f/3.5 combines vintage warmth with contemporary usability. Compact and lightweight, the Ksana 21mm f/3.5 is also packed with modern sharpness, minimal distortion and close focusing.

The Ksana 21mm f/3.5 channels the character of classic optics into today’s photography and videography through Thypoch’s Epoch Coating. As the first lens in the Ksana series, it uses this specialised coating to deliver photos with golden bloom, soft colour and vintage warmth.

This lens keeps things light and agile. At just 27mm high and weighing only 131g, the lens guarantees effortless handheld shooting. This build makes it ideal for street, travel and documentary videography. The design also helps creatives on the move with ergonomic contours for a comfortable grip.

Despite its pocketable form, the Ksana 21mm’s optical structure delivers high resolution with great suppression of chromatic aberration. This is a result of a makeup that includes a compact eight-element, six-group optical design, featuring one aspherical, two extra-low dispersion and three high refractive index elements. The nine-blade diaphragm provides apertures from f/3.5 to f/22 for rounded highlights, with especially crisp 18-point starbursts at f/4.

With a wide 21mm angle and a 0.5m minimum focusing distance, the lens delivers an 80.2° field of view on full-frame cameras with minimal distortion. A subtle tactile marker at 0.7m also gently signals when it’s time to switch to EVF focusing.

Priced at £419/$549, the Ksana 21mm f/3.5 is available for M mount in black or silver, ready to bring a touch of vintage character to modern setups.
