Tamron announces new 20-40mm F/2.8 lens for Nikon Z-mount

Tamron has announced the new 20-40mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A062), a fast-aperture standard zoom lens designed for Nikon Z-mount full-frame cameras.
Combining a compact, lightweight design with high image quality, the 20-40mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A062) is one of the smallest and lightest lenses in its class. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, from everyday snapshots and travel photography to dedicated creative work.
The 20-40mm offers a distinctive zoom range. At 20mm, the ultra-wide angle creates a strong sense of depth, for example, in landscape and architectural photography. The 40mm setting is ideal for everyday snapshots and portraits. (When used with an APS-C camera, the lens offers an equivalent zoom range of approximately 30-60mm).
The compact, lightweight design also offers advantages for video shooting. The 20mm focal length is particularly suitable for vlogging and selfies that include plenty of the surroundings. For autofocus, the lens uses Tamron’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism. This fast, high-precision AF system focuses quickly, silently and accurately for both still photography and video.
