Canon has unveiled the CJ27ex7.3B IASE T, a portable zoom lens designed to deliver stunning 4K HDR images and versatility for the broadcast industry

This cutting-edge lens, equipped with a newly developed e-Xs V drive unit, is poised to set new standards in the industry.

Expanding upon Canon’s esteemed UHDxs series, the CJ27ex7.3B IASE T offers users exceptional flexibility and an enhanced shooting experience across various scenarios, including live broadcasting, news gathering, and studio production.

One of the standout features of this lens is its remarkable focal length range, boasting a best-in-class 7.3-197mm range.

With a 27x optical zoom capability, it covers the widest focal length range currently available in its category, ensuring that users can capture the desired shot with ease, whether it’s a wide-angle view or a close-up of distant subjects.

Additionally, the built-in 2.0x extender doubles the maximum reach to 394mm, further expanding its versatility.

Designed for high-end applications, the CJ27ex7.3B IASE T prioritises optical performance, delivering high-resolution 4K HDR imagery with advanced technologies such as multi-group zoom and a floating focus system.

Advanced chromatic aberration correction and cutting-edge coating technologies enables sharp and accurate rendering of subjects, from the centre of the screen to the edges.

The lens is also equipped with the e-Xs V drive unit, featuring three 20-pin connectors, a USB-C port for remote control and firmware updates, and a 16-bit encoder for precise lens data output.

This drive unit enables greater precision, high-speed zoom, and improved iris responsiveness, empowering camera operators to capture fast-moving subjects with ease and accuracy.

The CJ27ex7.3B IASE T remains lightweight and compact, weighing just over 2kg.

Its ergonomic design maximizes comfort and maneuverability, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of broadcasting scenarios.
