The FUJINON XF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR is a lightweight super-telephoto lens offering exceptional portability and optical performance

Fujifilm has announced the launch of its latest super-telephoto lens, the FUJINON XF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR, designed for Fujifilm X Series mirrorless cameras.

The XF500mm lens is celebrated for its impressive focal reach and portability, weighing just 1,335g — a breakthrough in lightness for super-telephoto lenses.

Offering a 500mm focal length (equivalent to 762mm in 35mm format), the lens caters to photographers of wildlife, sports, and nature who require distance without compromising quality.

Enhanced optical design minimises chromatic aberrations, delivering sharp, detailed images with vibrant colour reproduction. Fujifilm has integrated a robust 5.5-stop image stabilisation, enabling clear, handheld shots even at long focal lengths. Additionally, the lens is weather-sealed with 20 points of protection, making it ideal for rugged shooting conditions.

Fujifilm’s new XF500mm lens supports teleconverters for even greater reach, extending up to 1,000mm when paired with the XF2.0X TC WR.

Priced at £2,899, it could enhance the toolkit of serious photographers seeking a high-performance yet portable super-telephoto solution.
