Laowa Adds PL Mount to 10mm cine hero

Posted on Jul 11, 2025 by Adam Duckworth

The widest rectilinear full-frame lens just got even more useful as Laowa adds a PL mount to its 10mm Zero-D T2.9 VV Cine

Laowa’s ultra-wide 10mm T2.9 Zero-D VV Cine lens has just become even more versatile with the introduction of a new PL mount option, opening it up to a wider range of high-end cinema cameras.

Already known for its extreme 130.3° diagonal field of view, the full-frame lens offers stunning, distortion-free visuals thanks to Laowa’s “Zero-D” optical technology – making it a favourite for architectural, landscape and interior cinematography. Now, with PL mount compatibility, it fully integrates with industry workhorses like the Arri Alexa LF and Red Raptor 8K VV.

Weighing just 640g, the 10mm T2.9 is ideal for handheld rigs, drones or gimbals, and features a close minimum focus of just 12cm. Combined with beautiful bokeh, this makes it a creative tool for unique close-ups with dramatic perspective.

Other pro features include a 113° focus throw, 0.8M gear pitch, and a standard 77mm front filter thread. Its Ø46.31mm image circle fully covers Vista Vision sensors, while chromatic aberration is kept tightly in check for clean, cinematic results.

Beyond the new PL mount, the lens is also available in LPL, Canon RF, Sony E, Nikon Z and L mounts – offering huge flexibility for rental houses and pro users alike.

The Laowa 10mm T2.9 Zero-D VV Cine PL mount is available now for pre-order at $1699 USD, with shipping expected in around three weeks.
