Lexar Launches CFexpress™ 2.0 Type B Memory Card at the 2019 NAB Show

Lexar is currently demonstrating the Lexar® Professional CFexpress™ 2.0 Type B prototype at NAB in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lexar is excited to advance the development of CFexpress™, a card standard developed by CompactFlash™ Association (CFA), adopting PCIe® Gen 3 for interface and NVM Express™ for protocol.

As CFexpress continues to emerge as the form factor of the future with higher capacities and superior performance speeds, the Lexar Professional CFexpress™ 2.0 card will feature demonstration speeds up to 1650MB/s read and 1000MB/s write.

Key Features of the CFexpress™ 2.0 Type B Memory Card:

  • Superior performance –– with transfer speeds of up to 1650MB/s read
  • In compliance with CompactFlash™ Association specifications
  • Utilizes PCIe 3.0 and NVMe protocol for unmatched speeds
  • Sustained write speeds of 1000MB/s

“Standardization of CFexpress has been an industry-wide effort within the CFA,” said Kevin Kilbuck, Lexar VP of Business Development and member of the CFA Board of Directors. “It is no small feat to standardize a solution that offers very high performance in the small yet familiar form factors. The Lexar CFexpress will be able to set itself apart by assuring seamless video capture at 4K and 8K resolution that provides sustained bandwidth without any drop-off in speed to the full capacity of the card.”

Lexar are demonstrating this product at NAB Central Hall – C1459 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
