Nikon Z5II announced

Posted on Apr 3, 2025 by Pro Moviemaker

Nikon has announced the release of the Nikon Z5II, the latest addition to its Z series mirrorless camera lineup

Positioned as an entry-level full-frame model, the Z5II is set to go on sale later this month at a UK RRP of £1,599 for the body only.

Building on the original Z5, the Z5II introduces several enhancements aimed at photography enthusiasts. It features a 24.5MP full-frame sensor with in-body image stabilisation, offering up to 7.5 stops of compensation at the centre of the frame, and 6.0 stops at the edges. Nikon’s Focus Point VR technology is also incorporated to reduce blur around the active focus point.

Low-light performance has been improved, with an ISO range up to 64,000 for stills and 51,200 for video. The autofocus system is faster than the original Z5, with sensitivity down to -10 EV and support for 3D subject tracking.

Other notable features include a 3000-nit electronic viewfinder, fully articulating touchscreen, dual SD card slots, and 4K video recording with N-RAW and N-log options. A new one-touch Picture Control button allows users to preview and apply colour profiles in real time.

Weighing approximately 700g, the magnesium-alloy body is designed to offer dust and drip resistance similar to that of the Z6III. Nikon also includes cloud connectivity via the Nikon Imaging Cloud, enabling automated storage and downloads.
