A show homecoming

The massive Photography & Video Show is back in Birmingham for 2026

After a year at Excel London, The Photography & Video Show returns to its traditional home at the NEC in Birmingham between 14 and 17 March 2026. With the event now alternating biennially between London and Birmingham, this year’s show marks a welcome homecoming for Europe’s largest photography and video gathering.

Much more than just a trade show, the event combines a vast exhibition floor with one of the most ambitious education programmes anywhere in the industry. Over 250 brands will exhibit, alongside more than 500 talks, workshops and live demonstrations spanning filmmaking and photography techniques to business strategy and creative development.

For filmmakers, it is a rare chance to get hands-on with the latest equipment, speak directly to designers and compare kit side by side. Many exhibitors also run exclusive show deals, making it a prime opportunity to invest in new gear. Brands on the show floor include Accsoon, Adobe, Amaran, Atomos, Benro, Canon, Fujifilm, Godox, Hollyland, Lacie, Laowa, Manfrotto, Nikon, Nanlite, OM System, Profoto, Sony, Sachtler, Sigma, Shimoda, Sirui, Tamron, Zoom and more.

Beyond equipment, the show shines as a learning and networking hub. A packed speaker line-up has leading photographers such as Charlie Waite and Lindsay Adler as well as a strong roster of content creators, filmmakers and cinematographers sharing experience across documentaries, wildlife, weddings, branded work and commercial production. The film director Nick Pilgrim, video producer Vikki Hutton, wildlife cinematographer Sophie Darlington and wedding filmmaker Steven Hazleton are just some of the talent from the world of movies who will be sharing their expertise in Birmingham this March.

There are live studio and demonstration areas, but it’s the In Motion Studio that will be of most interest to filmmakers, and there are many top sessions that will be of huge appeal. From learning the art of storytelling to how to choose and use the right kit, capture essential audio and master video editing, the In Motion Studio is the place to be.

Some of the other presentations will include how to film weddings, how audio is the soul of the show, lessons from Downing Street, getting the best out of a drone, scaling your business up as well as learning about and from a panel of women on wildlife filmmaking.

To get everything from creative inspiration to practical advice, the UK’s filmmaking community will once again come together at the NEC.
