Rode’s remote revolution with CallMe
Posted on Aug 1, 2025 by Adam Duckworth
CallMe is a new tool for RodeCaster users that enables high-quality direct remote audio connections from anywhere via a browser
Rode has unveiled new feature for content creators and podcasters using its RodeCaster Pro II and RodeCaster Duo audio mixers. Called Rode CallMe, the system allows creators to connect remotely over Wi-Fi or Ethernet with studio-quality audio and ultra-low latency, without needing third-party software or complex technical setups.
The technology is powered by tech from UK broadcast specialists Vortex Communications, and is now available via a free firmware update through the RodeCaster app.
CallMe lets users make direct device-to-device connections between RodeCaster units or invite contributors to join via a web browser, simply by sending a QR code or email link. This makes it ideal for podcasters, journalists and remote teams looking for a quick, reliable way to capture high-fidelity audio from anywhere.
There are three tiers available to suit all users. CallMe Lite is free and supports one contributor with 10 hours of device-to-device calls monthly. CallMe ($10/month) expands that to two contributors with unlimited calls. At the top is CallMe Pro ($50/month), designed for professional broadcast users. It offers three guest channels, broadcast-grade codecs, third-party SIP compatibility, multi-network streaming and enhanced tech support from Vortex.
