All square from DJI ‘s next-gen 360 camera

The new Osmo 360 delivers 1‑inch HDR imaging and 8Kvideo in a compact 360° camera to mark a major leap in immersive image quality

DJI has officially entered the 360° camera arena with the Osmo 360, a ground-breaking device that combines pro‑level imaging specs with a compact, adventure‑ready form. It features an industry‑first square HDR image sensor equivalent to a full 1‑inch CMOS, optimised for panoramic capture. By utilising 25 % more of its sensor area than traditional 4:3 designs, the Osmo 360 achieves sharper, cleaner visuals while lowering power consumption.

The camera is the first to record native 8K/30fps 360° video continuously for up to 100 minutes, and supports 8K/50fps for higher frame-rates. Larger 2.4μm pixels – double the industry norm – help deliver up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range, superior low-light performance and reduced noise, especially when combined with the f/1.9 lens and HDR processing.

The Osmo 360 also covers creative use cases with features like the invisible selfie stick, 4K/100fps or 4x slow‑motion and 120‑MP panoramic stills. Gesture and voice control simplify shooting, while DJI’s HorizonSteady, RockSteady stabilisation, GyroFrame motion control and AI tracking support fluid, polished capture. It also doubles as a first-person action camera in single‑lens mode, offering 5K/60fps flat footage and even 4K/120fps ultra‑wide capture.

Priced at around £409, DJI positions the Osmo 360 as a strong rival to the Insta360 X5, but offering deeper pixel depth, longer recording and cleaner 10‑bit colour capture with D‑Log M support.
