Aputure’s Storm Parallel Beam 70 is a long throw hero

Posted on Jul 22, 2025 by Adam Duckworth

Aputure’s new Storm Parallel Beam 70 modifier brings focused light over long distances with Cassegrain precision

Aputure has unveiled the Storm Parallel Beam 70, a powerful new beam modifier designed to deliver ultra-focused, high-intensity light from its Storm XT52 fixture. Featuring a 70cm true Cassegrain mirror system, the Beam 70 outputs an extremely tight 5° parallel beam with minimal distortion or shadow fringing – ideal for long-distance applications.

Optimised for use at 10 metres or more, the new modifier excels when punching through windows or bouncing off reflectors like LightBridge CRLS panels. It’s also compatible with the Electro Storm XT26 and CS15 lights, offering enhanced versatility for professional lighting setups.

The beam’s optical precision and output efficiency make it a valuable tool for filmmakers seeking control and punch from hard light sources.

No UK prices are set but Euro prices are €2,190 MSRP (excluding VAT), while a flight case kit version is priced at €2,650.
