The Nanlux Evoke 900C RGBLAC LED brings new levels of power and control to the full colour range

If there’s one LED that really can do it all, then the incredible Nanlux Evoke 900C is it. It is immensely powerful, turning night into day when needed. Yet it also has a full spectrum of colours, to allow the most creativity at any time.

It can be used with a whole range of modifiers such as projectors to create super-tight beams of light that can be finessed for super-fine control. And it has the power to work with huge softboxes, scrims or parabolic umbrellas to give a wonderfully soft, flattering wash of light. From flooding to spotting and cutting, the Evoke 900C makes it all simple. This ultimate power, flexibility and technology is why it was voted innovation of the year in the Pro Moviemaker Gear of the Year Awards, as voted for by thousands of working professional filmmakers.

At the very heart of the Nanlux Evoke 900C hard COB light source is its advanced RGBLAC six-colour mixing system, with lime, amber and cyan on a base of primary red, green and blue. Nanlux brings this tech to an even higher level of power, as the light can pump out a simply staggering 12,940 lux at 3m when set to 5600K, using a 45° reflector at a rated output of 940W.  And it remains accurate despite the power, with a CRI and TLCI both rated at 96.

To choose the colours of the output, it’s easy to select CCT mode, but the Evoke 900C also offers Advanced HSI mode, RGBW mode, XY coordinates and GEL mode. So experienced lighting techs can dial in precise settings using any method.

And DMX mode – RGB (No Dimmer) – has been developed for virtual production under DMX/RDM control, opening even more channels for colour calibration in the latest workflows.

The Evoke 900C also has 15 built-in special effects, with all parameters adjustable via onboard control, the free and simple Nanlink app and DMX/RDM. There is also built-in Ethernet control using Art-Net/sACN protocol for the first time, facilitating integration into the Unreal Engine lighting system, enabling fast and accurate response to virtual environment changes in real time.

As you’d expect for a professional fixture, the 900C stays with the Evoke family’s IP55 weatherproof performance for both the light and power supply, so can withstand bad weather.

The power supply comes with a quick-release device and can be securely mounted on a light stand or truss by the included, high-quality quick-release clamp. A 7.5m DC connection cable comes standard, but even longer 10m and 12m cables are available. And with a 15° offset design for the yoke, the tilt adjustment is improved – especially with big modifiers.

To keep such a powerful light cool, there is a new generation of adjustable fan control system with four modes featuring a smart mode, high speed, low speed and off for scenes where dialogue is crucial. In smart mode, it’s still quiet at under 25dBA.

Nanlux’s robust NL mount for light shapers is used, and it’s compatible with pro-level accessories including DoPchoice. For future firmware upgrades, the Evoke 900C comes with a USB port. A powerful, versatile light, the Evoke 900C brings more control, colour and light-shaping options to set. Nothing else quite matches.
